Scottish Spiced Rum from Glasgow’s Rum Distillery: new flavours new ideas!

At Jacobite Spirits, Glasgow’s Rum Distillery, we are on a mission to make rum the best it can be. And we really mean it. Scottish Spiced Rum is our core product and we love experimenting with flavours and ideas at our Glasgow Distillery. Rum is an accessible spirit- there’s something for everyone here and we want to broaden the reach!

We believe that Rum is the most versatile spirit out there- not only is it an essential component in over 1/3 of the world’s best cocktails, it’s really starting to take over as one of the most amazing drinks to enjoy neat or with a craft mixer.

Our newest creation, Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Cranachan Spiced Rum is a bit of a mouthful…and not just in the name! We’ve managed to bring together the flavours of a Scottish summer and to develop a strong and robust spirit that is not only genuine, Scottish Rum but is something that you can share and enjoy in many ways.

We’ve always recommended trying our Scottish Spiced Rums neat first and Charlie’s Chopper is no different. Our Master Distiller has spent months perfecting this recipe and we’re pretty excited at what’s happened. What you will find is a subtle and sweet taste of raspberry in all its glory- but not a sweet liqueur. This is still a genuine, hand-crafted rum made from scratch at our distillery in Glasgow. We start by fermenting molasses and building our base rum- a recipe we are really proud of. The next step is to distill again but this time we use a carefully selected blend of Scottish spices, herbs, grains and fruits. We think you’ll be quite surprised- we certainly were.

But if you like to go for a mixer, the choices are endless. A classic cola works well but so does a load of fruit and botanical mixers- there’s something for everyone with Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Cranachan Scottish Spiced Rum.
